International Taekwondo Athletes from Several Countries Participate in Historic Championship

Hyderabad, August 23: The 1st World Open Taekwondo Championship 2026 was successfully and grandly organized on August 22 and 23 at the G.M.C. Balayogi Indoor Stadium, Gachibowli, Hyderabad, Telangana, under the aegis of Amical Sports Academy.

Organizers described the international open championship as a historic event aimed at providing Indian athletes with an opportunity to compete against international-level Taekwondo players on home soil.

Pride of the Organizers

Amical Sports Academy Managing Director Ms. Veena Kotturi, Director Mr. Mir Wasid Ali Khan, and Grand Master Jayanth Reddy expressed their happiness and pride over the successful conduct of the championship.

The organizing team, along with Mr. Raju Rathod, Technical Director and Organizing Manager for South India and Telangana, played a key role in coordinating the event and ensuring its successful execution.

Ms. Veena Kotturi and Mr. Mir Wasid Ali Khan said that organizing international-level championships in India would provide talented athletes with opportunities to showcase their abilities, gain international exposure and work towards representing the country at global competitions.

They stated that many young athletes are looking for opportunities such as sponsorships, scholarships and international exposure, and the championship was organized with the objective of providing a suitable platform for such talented players.

Athletes from Several Countries

The championship witnessed participation from athletes representing India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Mauritius, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, Serbia, France and several other countries.

Athletes displayed remarkable talent, discipline, sportsmanship, determination and competitive spirit throughout the championship. Players from different nations secured Gold, Silver and Bronze medals, adding an international dimension to the sporting event.

The participation of athletes from several countries and their competitive performances made the championship a major international Taekwondo sporting celebration in Hyderabad.

Amical Sports Academy expressed its heartfelt gratitude to International Grand Masters, Masters, International Coaches, Coaches, schools, colleges, athletes, parents, officials, volunteers and everyone who contributed to the successful conduct of the championship.
