In a remarkable achievement at the age of just five, B. Vitat Ram, a talented young boy from Achampet in Nagarkurnool District, has brought pride to Telangana by earning international recognition in Taekwondo.

At the 1st World Open Taekwondo Championship–2026, held at the G.M.C. Balayogi Indoor Stadium in Gachibowli, Hyderabad, Vitat Ram delivered an outstanding performance in the Speed Punching and Speed Kicking categories and achieved a record in the High Range Book of World Records.

During the record event, Vitat Ram successfully completed 200 speed punches in one minute and 100 speed kicks in one minute, demonstrating remarkable speed, discipline and physical ability at such a young age. In recognition of his achievement, he was honoured with the High Range Book of World Records Award and a Gold Medal.

On the occasion, Mr. Suman, Telangana Head of High Range World Records; Ms. Veena Vahini, Founder & Director of Amical Sports Academy; Grand Master M. Jayanth Reddy, Founder of JR International Martial Arts Academy; and Mr. Raju Rathod, Telangana and South India Organising Manager of the 1st World Open Taekwondo Championship, congratulated and honoured young Vitat Ram.

Double Gold Medal Achievement

Vitat Ram also showcased his exceptional talent at the 1st World Open Taekwondo Championship held on August 22 and 23 at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium.

He participated in the Kyorugi Peewee category for five-year-old participants and the Speed Kicking event, winning two Gold Medals and emerging as a Double Gold Medalist.

The international Taekwondo championship and record event witnessed participation from athletes representing 12 countries, including Zambia, Ethiopia, Mauritius, Japan, Sri Lanka, Nepal and South Africa, along with participants from 22 states across India.

Organisers described Vitat Ram’s achievement of setting a world record and winning two Gold Medals at just five years of age as an exceptional accomplishment.

Family Expresses Pride

B. Vitat Ram is currently studying in the Nursery Class at Vivekananda School, Achampet. His mother, Lalitha Bhavani, and father, B. Rajaram, expressed immense happiness and pride over their son’s remarkable achievement.

They wished that Vitat Ram would continue to bring honour and recognition to his family, Achampet, Nagarkurnool District, Telangana and the nation through his future achievements.

They said that with proper training, guidance and encouragement from an early age, the young athlete has the potential to achieve many more medals and honours at national and international levels.
